Is my licence valid in foreign countries? In accordance with OACI (Montreal head office) laws, you can fly anywhere in the world if the plane is the same nationality as the pilot's licence. Most countries will permit you to fly as a tourist pilot with planes other than Canadian nationality after filling out adequate paperwork and a flight verification.
Conversion of a private pilot licence in a Canadian private pilot licence: You must meet Transports Canada's requirements. This means that you accomplished 45 flight hours, a 150 nautical mile flying trip and 5 hours of instrument flying. You must take a written exam (PSTAR), pass the Canadian radio licence and a medical. You must present your licence and your logbook (with the hours certified by an instructor from your country).
Conversion of a foreign professional pilot licence in a Canadian professional pilot licence: You must meet Transports Canada's requirements, this means that you have completed: • 65 total flying hours in double command • a 300 nautical mile flight trip • 20 hours of instrument and night flight • including: 5 hours in solo at night • 5 hours in double command at night • 10 hours of instrument of which 5 are from the private licence
Is my multi-engine valid in Canada? The multi-engine is valid only of you did 50 flight hours during the last 12 months (in Canada or elsewhere)
Is my medical valid in Canada? The class 1 medical meeting the OACI norms is valid in Canada. You only need to fill out a form at Transport Canada.
